The Lurking Lurk Part 1

Try to guess

Before we start, here’s a challenge.  You’ve played the game, you know how it works.  You’ve read my stories, you know how my mind works.  Try to guess what’s about to happen.

Make a few logical guesses, make some illogical guesses, cut up a dictionary and pull out random words.

All ready?  Ok, let’s see if you were right.

Previously:  Lurk is Lark’s identical but younger twin brother.  He’s also eeeeevil.  His henchpersons, Agent D and Agent D, posed as foster parents to spirit him away to their evil lair.  They’ve been plotting and scheming, trying to find a way to take over the world.

Then they heard that Pleasantview will be hosting the world overlord election.  So they’ve hustled back to town to try and drum up support.

Agent D:  Just in case something goes wrong, I want you to know I think of you as the evil, ungrateful son I never had.

Lurk:  What do you mean, if something goes wrong?  The plan is perfect.  My potion will give us irresistible charisma and everyone will vote for me, yes?

Agent D:  Right.  And evil plans never, ever go horribly wrong.

Lurk:  First, I make some special adjustments to the elixir.  Now, not only will it add days to our lives, it will add irresistibility to our charisma!

Lurk:  And now we add the secret ingredient.

Agent D:  You put cat food in it?  Bleh!

Lurk:  Ah, yes.  I thought you might take the shortsighted view of things.  So I have made these lovely drinks of grapefruit and clam juice.  When we are done, they will refresh your palate.

Lurk:  Now you are ready?

Agent D:  There’s also booze in those drinks, right?

Agent D:  I don’t know why you bothered to make potion for me.  I’ve got plenty of charisma already.

And so the evil potion of evilness is evilly consumed by…

Hey, wait a minute.

What is with those glasses?  Does Smythe-Jones know about this?

Ah well, they can’t let mysterious glasses come between them and Fate.

Lurk:  No!  Something is wrong!

Lurk:  The potion was not right!  It tastes of mistakes and confusion!

Agent D:  I don’t know what you’re talking about.  This stuff is great.
