What has come before:
An object, a Ter'Angreal, sent Ranma and Company into RandLand (Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time Universe). They are currently in the company of the Wolfbrother Elyas, a pair of Aes'Sedi, their Warders, and a Gleeman. They just stopped to make camp after finding a lone, barely surviving Aiel. Nabiki has been milking the Gleeman Coledare for information. Her information gathering was stopped when Ryouga was hit by cold water in front of everyone. Turning into a wolf.
Kasumi tasted her stew. Then she frowned. It was good but it lacked the perfection of her normal meals. Perhaps some more spices. Only she was out of spices. She was lucky they had received some vegetables from the Tua'than. Maybe some rice then? Wait they didn't have any rice.
Kasumi sighed it wasn't perfect but it would have to do.
"Dinners Ready" she called.
The others quickly surrounded her to be fed as she dished out the servings. Cries of "Thanks Kasumi." "This is great" and "You've outdone yourself daughter." were here then quickly stopped as the evening meal was attacked.
Seeing how the food was quickly disappearing Kasumi made sure to save some for Ryouga. Pausing for a moment Kasumi studied what Mother was telling her.
Ranma still had the same images he normally had; His cursed form sitting on his right shoulder with sly smile on her face, a small kitten sleeping on his left shoulder, the girls were having a tug a war over his heart, and a tiger and dragon fought a constant battle over his head. Those images didn't currently concern Kasumi. What bothered her right now was the new images surrounding Ranma; a Rosery with eight large beads around his neck, A dog at his feet, and a bloody sword at his side. The sword particularly concerned Kasumi.
Akane's aura remained relatively unchanged with one exception. Her hands now appeared to be bathed in fire. Ukyou and Shampoo also had similar changes to their aura's as well.
Nabiki now had a wolf siting on her shoulder, Kasumi hoped this didn't mean she would get a curse. While Kuno now had a blazing sun above his heart. While Sasuke paled like he had gone into shock.
As she studied Taro she saw the wings of his cursed form grow out of his back. They then turned black and leathery. Shattering they were replaced by glowing white wings. Watching it caused Kasumi to shiver.
Dr. Tofu also had an addition to his aura. A Yellow rose. Kasumi wasn't sure exactly what it meant except that it had something to do with the Aes'Sedi that had healed his patient.
Kasumi almost lost her ever present smile when she saw Moose's aura. He had tears of blood streaming down his face. She was so suprised she almost missed the bird perched on his shoulder singing.
Father's and Mr Soatome's auras remained unchanged. While grandfather Hopposai's and Colonge's were blurred and hidden like they always have been.
That nice man Elyas had a wolf like Nabiki's. Also a new image appeared after Ryouga changed. A smiling woman with silver hair and yellow eyes.
The Aes'Sedi's and their warders auras kept changing though a few things remained constant. Such as flames dancing over their hands and white tower above their heads for the Aes'Sedi. The images around the warders changed and shifted two fast for Kasumi to make out.
Mother also had something to tell about the Gleeman, Coledare, and the Aiel. Though the images around them rarely appeared but for a few moments one image appeared often enough for Kasumi to identify it. Each of them possessed a glass bead.
Seeing as how everyone was finishing up Kasumi began on cleaning up the dinner. Mothers riddles would have to wait for latter.
As Kasumi started the clean up Coledare stood up and walked to by the fire.
"My story tonight is a request, but I hope you all enjoy it. Many ages ago when..."
Kasumi hummed quietly to herself as she washed the dishes. As she was washing she felt a nagging sense of dread something was wrong. That is it, with the exception of Coledare telling his story it was quiet. Pausing for a moment Kasumi listened to the story.
In the back of her mind something clicked. And her face paled.
Turning around Kasumi took in the faces of her family. Her father was slack jawed unable to even cry. Kasumi could see him reliving the horror of Hiroshima and Nagisaki. Akane's face was bloodless. She was frozen. Her eyes locked across the fire on Ranma. Ranma was also pale, but his jaw was set in determination. His eyes would wonder over everyone in the camp, lingering a few seconds longer over Akane before continuing on their circuit. Ukyou and Shampoo, their faces white, each clutched one of Ranma's arms desiring the comfort of his presence. Neither noticing the other. Nabiki was not pale. Her face was a grim mask as she listened to Coledare. Nodding occasionally as she herd some things and frowning slightly at others. A smile appeared on Kasumi's lips as she realized that Nabiki was planning. Nabiki would take care of the disaster to come. She would would help them grieve now so they would be able to go on when it came.
With a purposeful smile she began to take in how the others were responding. Ryouga who had returned in the middle of the story was resting by the fire. Still a wolf he had a slight green tinge.
The air parted forming a gateway in front of Cuushen Shaedhe. Opening the way to the Black Tower. This recruitment trip would disapoint the Meihel. In the vilage they visited today they did not find one capable of learning to channel. He rolled a bead around in his hand as the two other blackcoats with him passed through. He pocketed the bead and smiled. His senses told him it was a ter'angreal. Prehaps somday he will know how it works. He closed the gateway after he had passed though it. The smile still on his face.
Cue'bekkar chuckeled softly to himself. Soon all the peices would be in place. He drew his blade across his tong and smiled. Dissmising the raven with a flick of his wrist he turned to the Myrddraal behind him.
"Everything is coming together nicely. The twisted ones have arived, and the pack of hounds is come to there master. Let us give them our regards Hmmm.."
