Fushigi Yuu Yuu Hakusho
Ending Theme: Daydream Generation
[During the instrumental beginning, we slowly pan in on a scroll on
which are depicted Keiko at the bottom, Tamahome at the left (her right) and
behind her, Yuusuke in a similar position on the right, and Suzaku in phoenix
form behind and above them all. Then rapidly cut from one face to another (in
the order given above); each face, in the close-up, is the cel-art version of
the scroll's drawing]
*Mabuta no ura ni*
[Keiko, in the blouse and jeans she was wearing when she first entered
the Universe of the Four Gods, walks from the left side of the screen to about
the center, There seems to be some sort of infinite mirror thing going on,
because to her left (behind her, from the watcher's point of view) an infinite
number of Keikos are paralleling her movements]
*akogare dake*
[As she comes to the middle of the screen, all the other Keikos vanish.
She stops and inclines her head slowly]
*Ukabete nemuru*
[Her clothes slowly blur from the Ningenkai outfit to the formal robes
of Suzaku no Miko, as she turns towards the camera]
*kisetsu ni Good-bye*
[Keiko fades out as a bust shot (HEAD style bust, you know!) of her
fades in in the lower right-hand corner of the screen, still in formal
outfitting with her hair done up thus. She's looking down slightly and
smiling]
*Tooku kirameku yasashisa yori*
[Cut to Tamahome, sitting in Keiko's room at the palace, looking through
the wallet Keiko has handed her. She pulls a small photograph out, gazing at it
curiously]
*Tada hitotsu wagamama ga hoshii*
[The camera angle swings around to narrow in on the photograph, which we
see to be of a short-haired Keiko sitting on a low rock near a riverbank and
Yuusuke, hair down, standing next to her (as seen in the YYH "Sayonara Bye Bye"
ED when the title phrase is sung for the second time)]
*Tsumetai GARASU no machi o kugurinukete*
[Again cut to a city made of tall glass towers, dim now under clouds.
From its gates, a troop of dispirited figures emerge who prove to be the
Urameshi Team]
*Sono te ni furetai*
[Rapidly zoom in on the four guys. The background around them changes to
Genkai's temple as they walk into the main room. Botan looks up at them
hopefully; they shake their heads in negation]
*kimochi tashikametai*
[Botan droops as Shizuru keeps reading The Book and Yuusuke moves to
look over her shoulder]
*Me o akete miru yume dake
Tsuyoku dakishimete iru yo*
[Pan slowly in on Keiko, slumped over a table by the window of her
apartments. The window is wide open, showing the gardens and pond
outside]
*Kaze ga fuite ame ga futte*
[And then the scene outside suddenly changes to the grounds of Genkai's
temple. Keiko's head jerks up in surprise as Botan, Yuusuke, Yukina, and
Kuwabara run past.]
*Kokoro wa yurete mo*
[Keiko stares and then vaults out the window. The camera pans in
further, losing the Kounanite frame, as she is pulled into a group hug]
*Me o akete miru yume nara*
[As the camera begins to pan back, the hugging group staying at the
bottom of the screen, Hiei, Kurama, and Shizuru run on, apparently drawn by the
happy noises. Botan exchanges a meaningful glance with the latter two
--]
*Ima wa kizutsuite mo ii*
[-- who firmly grab one of Hiei's arms each and add themselves to the
hug. (Hiei looks startled.)]
*Kono sora ga katte-na hodo*
[The camera angle swings around , still keeping the hug as the focus of
the lower part of the screen, to show the temple behind them. Atsuko and Koenma
are seated (sprawled, in Atsuko's case) on the engawa, watching them]
*Sunao ni nareru yo!
Me o akete miru yume nara*
[Atsuko knocks back a slug of sake, light gleaming off her artificial
right hand, and, as the music very obviously cuts to more refrain, offers the
bottle to Koenma, who waves it away]
*Ima wa kizutsuite mo ii*
[The group hug, which is now rocking back and forth, as those things
tend to do, suddenly loses coherence, everyone falling on their
behinds]
*Kono sora ga katte-na hodo
Sunao ni nareru yo!*
[Everyone looks at each other, and then starts laughing. They are still
laughing as the music slowly fades out]
[Fade, with the music, to black]
