(Opening theme : Chrono Cross Scars Left By Time)

We see a book that slowly flips open, then a page lands to settle on
the pages below. Then, a voice starts to speak.

A deep voice: When was the start of this?

When did the cogs of fate begin to turn?

Perhaps it is impossible to grasp that answer now,

For deep within the flow of time...

But, for a certainty, back then

We loved so many, and hated so much,

We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

But even then, we ran like the wind

                        Whilst our laughter echoed

                           under Cerulean Skies.

We see Ash, his hair being blown in the wind as he stands at the front
of the Highwind deck. Then we see the Eight Dragon Gods floating in the
skies. We see a beam of light lance out in the middle of the ocean,
Muu's palace floating in the middle of it. We see Misty slash two
monsters and cast a bolt of blue ice at another. We see the
Digidestined from left to right.

We see Tenchi and Kagato fighting one on one. We see the Lunar Senshi
fighting monsters. We see Serge, Leena, Kid, Crono, Lucca, Marle. We
see hordes of monsters. We see the Transformed Dragon Armors. We see
Tai and the others. We see Ash standing atop a tall tower, looking
outwards. We see a giant eye opening. We see the Masamune before it. We
see the Digidestined Digitizing. We see the Digimon. We see the
Pokemon. We see the Monsters. We see...FATE. We see Lavos. We see Muu.
We see Two worlds spiraling as one, with a golden figure overlooking
it. We see a strange golden object in the middle of the screen. We see
Ken and Muu's face overlapping his own.

We see darkness enshrouding the world.

We see a shot of Misty on the beach, then she turns towards the screen,
holding her hands out, the picture going into the depths of her blue
eyes.

We see shots of Ash, Misty, Brock, Ranma, Genki, Duplica, Mike and
Leena turning around, flames in the background.

We see the Highwind entering the light and Ash collapsing, the
brilliant white light encircling the Highwind as the picture goes to
the Pokemon Cross logo.

Episode 3 : Where Angels Lose Their Way

<><><>

"That's all for today, see you next month class."

Ranma Saotome, or Powers, whichever you wanted to call him, sighed and
picked up his backpack. College was tiring but it was important to him,
as with his parents.

Parents. That was a word he wondered about.

Genma was no parent. As stupid as he was, he wasn't even fit to raise a
child properly. But say what you will about Genma Saotome, he could
hold one thing to this credit: he was an excellent teacher of the Art,
when he wasn't doing something blatantly stupid at the time.

As Ranma traversed the hall, his cell phone rang. After not seeing her
little boy for so long, Nadoka had given him a cell for his birthday,
before he had moved to take school in Odiaba College. Thus, he kept in
touch a lot. Many people had his number, but thankfully, not very many
of his old FRIENDS did.

Friends. That was a word he thought of to be strange as well.

He had thought Akane, Ryoga, and a whole heap of the people around him
as his friends. Not quite, was the case as the insanity had resumed
around him tenfold after he had returned to Nerima.

Then, came the failed wedding and Jusendo and he had enough.

It was enough that Pops and Mr. Tendo had gone and pulled the damn
stunt, but he had just came back from an incident where he had to kill.
Again.

Sometimes, when he slept, he could see the death of either
Machinedramon or Saffron, sometimes, both. It wasn't something he
reveled in, but he knew he had to do it. Kill or be killed. Save, or
lose everything he held dear. It was a near no-win situation both
times.

What did he fight for anyways, were his thoughts. He saw Akane as a
friend, not a loved one anymore. Not since Jenette. He and Jenette did
not see each other much but still wrote and phoned each other quite
frequently. Dad, Bruno to be exact, had laughingly dubbed his long
distance charges as a "Ongoing Telecommunications Experiment" and quite
frankly, paid for his son's phone bill from time to time. Being richer
than a small nation paid off at times.

But Akane. She was the same as ever. Still stubborn as a mule, can't
cook, swim and do many other things that a girl her age should be able
to do.

After he had returned home, he had found a note and a flurry of
feathers. The fight lead him to Mt. Phoenix where he fought the
egotistical prince, Saffron. When Saffron upped the stakes by nearly
killing Akane, he was then reminded that no more people would be hurt
when he fought. The promise he made to Jenette to come back and see her
next month.

Fate.

With that in mind, he gathered all his power, all his emotions, and
leveled the top of Mt. Phoenix.

It didn't matter that Saffron would be reborn again, but Ranma had
taken a life for the safety of mankind once again. And the safety of a
friend.

The wedding attempt was a time of panic for Ranma. He did not want to
get married to Akane whom he viewed as a friend. And the cask of
Naniichuan was tempting but he knew better.

You see, Ranma isn't as dumb as many people thought he was. After the
Pantyhose Taro encounter, he had gone to Cologne and asked if there was
a cure. There was none. None that she had known of for the time being.

Jusenkyo was an unstable factor of chaotomic magic underneath the
seemingly harmless springs. No cure could be permanent. No spring could
cure it. Ranma had turned green when he found out that the springs mix.
Thus, he left the barrel of Naniichuan for the idiots to fight over
while he stalled for time, and prayed for help.

It came rather suddenly, when everyone came barreling into the dojo,
trying to either kill him, prevent the wedding, or marry either himself
or Akane.

That was the breaking point.

In the midst of the chaos, Ranma slipped out, and phoned his mother.
Explaining the situation, she sent the family limo and took him into
her house.

Over time, he had become quite the scholar and had solved most of his
problems. The Amazons had returned to China, Cologne smiling happily.
Ryoga had taken up Pokemon Breeding and Training and was currently
traveling Johto... or Timbuctu as the case may be at times. Ukyo
surprisingly wasn't too disagreeable with what he has decided. After
all Nodoka's lawyers drew up an agreement that would restore honor to
her.

It was Mr. Tendo who was the most vocal when Ranma took his fathers
name and nullified all the engagements. Everything from shouting to the
Demon Head was used to no avail. Nabiki lost nearly half of her life
savings when it was discovered that nearly half of her money was in a
betting pool for Akane and Ranma to get married in a year. Akane had
predictably gotten mad and Kasumi, well, she tracked down Tofu-sensei
and gotten him over his madness. They made a cute couple.

But, enough reminiscing, Ranma thought as he snapped up his cell phone.
"Ranma speaking."

//Ranma, it's Ash.//

Ranma sat down in a corner and set aside his backpack. "Ash, hi. What's
up?"

//Ranma, how would you like to take a little journey?//

A smile played on his face as the young man leaned forwards in
interest, despite his friend being on the other side of the line. "Tell
me more...."

After they were finished, Ranma had arrived at his room. Unpacking his
backpack and packing up supplies for the journey, he soon became tired
as his mind spun with questions.

He just wondered. Why did this all happen? Is there a reason that his
life is so full of chaos? What was the meaning of his life?

As soon he finished packing, he decided that a long nap was in order.

<><><>

"So, you intend to rob me, eh?"

"Yeah, little lady. That's what we, the members of the Falcon's Claws
do."

"But isn't a bit cowardly to have ten people gang up on a little....
wait a minute, did you call me little?"

"Well, in your case, little would be an understatement. HAHAHAHAHA!"

"That's it! FIREBALL!"

<><><>

Lina checked the ten bandits she just fireballed. They were dead or
unconscious. Lina really never killed anyone before, much less a
bandit. In her mind there was an internal struggle whether it was all
right to kill them, even though they were bandits.

It ended upon finding their pouches of gold and silver.

With that Lina continued on a little richer, and with a couple new
ideals. Bandits have no rights. And stealing from bandits isn't
stealing.

<><><>

Ranma woke up. "What the heck was that all about?" He just had a dream
about Lina Inverse fireballing some bandits. The thing was, he saw the
events through Lina's eyes.

It kinda unnerved him that ten thousand years ago, Lina Inverse
actually walked on the face of the Earth. Destroying bandit gangs.
Slaying dark Mazoku lords. Eating huge meals at the cost of operation a
restaurant. Blowing up dragons, towns, etcs. Saving the world at the
brink of destruction.

Hell, the fact that Naga the White Serpent really laughed like Kodachi
Kuno really scared him.

As far as he knew only the Digidestined, past and present, knew about
their journey through time. Heh, he thought, let the world be ignorant.
It wouldn't do the world any good if they knew Lina Inverse was real,
and not a made up anime character. After all, Lina Inverse had that
spell, you know, the one that creates an explosion much like a
miniature nuclear weapon, minus the radiation.

And let it be only known to Ash, Genki, and himself, that Xellos and
Roudy Gabriev had observed them for all this time.

*Begin Flashback*

"Aw, what's the matter? Ryuzoku got your tongue?" A form appeared in
front of Muu which made the others eyes bug out in shock. He was
dressed in a dark purple suit, had a silly smile on his face with
shoulder length purple hair.

He carried a dark colored staff with a red gem topping it. But besides
the different clothing, the features were still recognizable as....

"XELLOS!" The three exclaimed.

"YOU!" Muu declared. The figure before him matched the description of
the one who stole Swordbreaker, the weapon that woman held now.

The Mazoku turned to Ranma, a silly grin on his face. "Why Ranma, I
haven't seen you in years! It's good to see you again. Ash, Genki, I
too have watched you grow up."

"Grow up? What do you mean?" Ranma was thoroughly confused at the whole
appearance of the Beastmaster Xellos Metallium.

"I've been waiting for this moment in time, all in order to give you
this small bit of advice. 'When your hearts are beating as One, then
you will find the power within to survive the darkness.' Remember
this."

"That's kinda sappy for a Mazoku," Genki pointed out.

"Sounds like something Filia might say," Ash added.

Xellos shrugged and blushed at the mention of Filia's name. "I'm
working for a different set of Bosses now. My old ones are gone thanks
to Mr. Wannabe Dark Lord here." he said, pointing his staff to Muu.
"Can't hang out for long, Dragon Face over there is getting upset.
Ciao!" With that, he disappeared from view.

<><><>

"He's right," the elderly man said. "each one of your have your own
powers within you. Ranma, you have strengths of Friendship and
Reliability within. These strengths had kept you strong in times of
hardship." he smiled, waving his staff once, sparkles moving through
the air. "I have been watching you Ranma Saotome."

"Me? Why me? First Xellos and now you?"

The man chuckled. "I am Roudy Gabriev. These are my companions, Mojoy,
Schala; she likes to be called Kid, Ho-oh, Lugia, Zapdos, Articuno and
Moltres."

The three blinked.

"Roudy Gabriev? The one who fought Joyrock?"

"The one who brought Lina Inverse to the past to do so?"

"The ancestor of Gourry Gabriev, possibly the greatest swordsman in the
world?"

Roudy laughed. "The one and only. Look I can't explain why your were
chosen, or why I been watching over you. Time is running out. You must
awaken your spirits within!"

*End Flashback*

Ranma sighed. So many questions, so few answers.

<><><>

"Brock speaking, hello?"

//Hi Brock! It's Misty.//

"Hey Misty," Brock leaned back in his desk and started to shift through
the papers on his desk. "What's up?"

//I guess there's no way to be evasive about this so I'll be blunt. How
do you feel about taking on Muu again?// Brock dropped the phone in
shock.

<><><>

"Man, this is all we have?" Ranma sighed and buried his face in his
hand. "we'd have a better chance taking on Daleks with the amount of
people we have."

Genki shrugged. "I guess it can't be helped Ranma. Everyone was too
busy to help with this mission."

"Enough you guys," Misty said, adjusting her backpack. "We all ready to
go?" A chorus of yeses were heard as she stuck out her Digivice. The
screen glowed and she was sucked into it, followed by the rest of them.

<><><>

"So this is Another World? Sure needs some redecorating."

The place they had landed in was similar to the last, dark, dreary and
full of ruins. In the distance, a camp was seen, searchlights
surrounding the area.

"So what's the plan Ash?" Mike asked curiously.

Ash thought for a minute. "Normally, I'd say 'sneak in real quiet like'
but something about this place makes me wanna bust in doing the 'noisy
entrance bit.' I dunno, it just feels like that kind of place."

"Tell you what," Ranma said, "Jun Ken Pow. We decide who'll do the
quiet entrance bit while we distract the guards. Fair enough?"

"Sounds good." Brock said. The group gathered in a circle and started
to play. "Jun Ken Pow!"

"Genki, looks like you're going in quietly," Duplica said.

"Okay. I'll try and find the main power switch and throw it in the
middle of the battle. That should confuse people enough."

"Good luck Genki," Ranma said. "Don't get yourself caught, ya hear?"

"No worries." With that, Genki slipped off into the shadows.

"Okay, so what's the plan?" Brock asked.

Ash grinned and said, "It's a doozy. Listen up everyone...."

<><><>

"Quiet night," one Vegemon said.

"Very," the other replied.

"Hey you two down there!" called a Weed, "keep your eyes peeled." Then,
suddenly, he was struck by a bolt of energy.

"What?!" One Vegemon turned and was immediately punched out. The other
received a hammer blow to the head. After tying them up with their own
arms, Ranma and Brock grinned at each other.

"I'll help here, you go and get the south gate." Ranma said, cracking
his knuckles.

"Right, you be careful." Brock shouldered his hammer and ran around the
wall in the shadows.

Ranma then turned to Mike and Misty and nodded. "Do your things you
guys!"

"Digiteam Maximize! 4327!"

"Digiteam Digitize!"

"Togepei Digivolve to.... Veemon! Veemon Digivolve to.... EXVeemon!"

<><><>

On the other side, Brock finished tying up the Vegemon and gagged them
with some rocks. "Okay Ash. All clear."

"Time to do it right. Pikachu?"

"You got it!"

"Digiteam Maximize! 4327!"

"Digiteam Digitize!"

"Pikachu Digivolve to.... Pikamon! Pikamon Digivolve to.... Leomon!"

With that, Leomon kicked down the door.

<><><>

"Mistress Pixie!" A Vegemon guard ran into the room, waving his roots
in panic. "Digimon and Humans are attacking the Slave Camp!"

Pixie looked at him, her eyes burning red. A Dark Ring was around her
arm as she said, "Sound the alarm."

<><><>

"Looks like our arrival caused some stir," Genki said, chuckling to
himself.

He slipped down the hallway and found the cells. Taking out his
computer, he jacked in and hacked the programs. In an instant, the door
opened up and he slipped in. The cells contained a mix of Humans, their
Pokemon, Digimon and a few monsters. He went to the first door and
found it was a electronic lock. Rapping on the cell doors, the man
inside awoke and his eyes widened. "Hey!" Genki whispered, "you okay in
there?"

"Yeah, get me out laddie!" the man said. "I'm nae trubble!"

"Who're you?" Genki asked.

The man puffed up proudly. "I'm Zappa the seventeenth laddie, the
finest Blacksmith in this side of the islands of El Nido! Them Baddies
put me in 'ere to make me close up shoppe. I would like a crack at them
now."

Genki smiled, Zappa's humor contagious. "Okay, I'll get you out in a
second." He tapped at the keyboard and soon, the door opened. The man
walked out, stretched and clasped a calloused hand on Genki's shoulder.

"Much obliged young'un. We'd better free the others, there are people
who can lead an uprising in this 'ere Slave Camp."

Genki nodded and unhooked his computer. "I need a terminal where I can
get access to the cells at once."

"There be a computer in th' next room," Zappa said in his thick
Scottish accent. "we'd have a bit of trubble gettin' to 'th room
laddie."

"Psst!" came another voice. Genki and Zappa turned around to see a man
in another one. The man was young with blonde hair. He wore armor but
had no sword. "I'll help! Those baddies took Moi Hero's Medal, Shield
and Sword, passed down my family! Name's Jean-luc, descendant of Pierre
the Swordsman!"

"Can ye fight laddie?" Zappa asked curiously.

"Very well. I'm not very good in melee combat but Moi can make it up
for it in ze style."

Genki shrugged and opened the door. "Okay, you're in."

Jean-luc stretched and pumped Genki's hand in thanks. "Thanking you for
helping me out of ze cell. Was most uncomfortable, tres bien no?"

"Um... yeah. First we need weapons."

"Weapons locker down th' hallway," Zappa said. "That's where they kept
me Master Hammer."

"Moi Hero's Sword, Shield and Medal in there too, we go, oui?"

Genki nodded. The three slipped out and had to bash a couple of Vegemon
guards as they went along. Soon, they had come to a locker where it was
partially set into the wall. Jean-luc took out a hairpin and worked on
the old partially rusted lock for a second before it clicked open. He
smirked. "I'm hell on safes."

Zappa opened it up and reached in, taking his Master Hammer. "Ah, I
dinne think ye'd actually get th' door open laddie."

Genki fished in the weapons locker before he came upon a pair of
armored gloves. Slipping them on, he smiled a bit. Pierre also snapped
on his Hero's Medal, sheathed his Sword and put on his Shield. "Where
to?" Genki asked.

"That way," Zappa said, pointing to a door. "We'll get in, bash th'
guards and be on our way after you free th' Prisoners."

The group sneaked in as they took positions on either side of the
doorway, Zappa preparing to kick the door in. "On th' count o three.
One. Two. THREE!" Zappa kicked the door open, the door flattening a
couple of Vegemon. They rushed inside and took out the shocked Vegemon
guards before they could react. As they tied them up, Genki turned to
the computer and started to work on it. "Okay, I've got some stuff.
Downloading it now."

Just then, one of the monitors flickered on as it displayed the other
Digidestined creating chaos in the courtyards. Genki smiled as he
watched them bowl down the Baddie groups without much trouble. "Looks
like we're winning."

"Aye laddie," Zappa said. "How much time till that thing there finishes
downloading?"

"One more minute," Genki said. "Hey, Jean-luc, what'cha doing?"

Jean-luc kept on opening everything not sealed shut. "Looking for
Elements."

"Elements?" Genki asked, confused. "What are those?"

"Yuir not from around here, are ye laddie," Zappa said. "Where are ye
from then?"

"It's a long story," Genki said. "In any case, we have all the data we
need. I'm freeing the prisoners.... now."

<><><>

"Brings back memories, doesn't it, eh Brock?" Ranma asked, flipping a
monster over his shoulder with his enhanced strength.

"You know it," Brock said with a grin as he sent a couple of weeds into
the stratosphere with a swing of his Chrome Digizoid hammer. "Behind."

Ranma jerked his fist over his shoulder and knocked a marauding Weed
unconscious. "This is no challenge I suppose but it is fun."

"Don't you get tired of fighting?" Brock asked. "Go Geodude! Onyx!" The
two Pokemon appeared and started to tear into the ranks of Baddies.
Then, Brock held out his Digivice. "Geodude, Onyx, Digivolve!"

"Geodude Digivolve to.... Gotsumon! Gotsumon Digivolve to... Golemmon!"

"Onyx Digivolve to.... Kunemon! Kunemon Digivolve to.... Ogremon!"

"Not a chance. Hitmonchan! Hitmonlee! Machop! I choose you!" Ranma's
Pokemon appeared and they also started to cut a sizable swath into the
ranks. Then, he held up his Digivice as well. "Digivolve Machop!"

"Machop Digivolve to.... Agumon! Agumon Digivolve to.... Gorillamon!"

"Fist of the Beast King!" A whole row of monsters fell to the attack,
as Leomon used his sword to cut a pile of logs free. The logs rolled
over a few weeds, turning them into lost discs. "This is getting rather
repetitive, ne, EXVeemon?"

"Vee-Blaster!" The X-shaped blast knocked a row of monsters into the
skies. "This is sort of strange, isn't it? There are only monsters
fighting. No Digimon, and not a Pokemon anywhere. It's like the Pokemon
and Digimon are the suppressed ones."

"Pummel Whack!" A row of Monsters went down as Ogremon grinned. "I
sliced. I should work on my swing."

"Rock Punch!" The Digimon form of Geodude slammed a few monsters into
the skies as his companion, Gorillamon fired his Energy Cannon.

Birdramon unleashed her Meteor Wing, destroying a large part of the
wall when suddenly, a pink and white figure slammed into her. Crying
out in shock, she crashed into a pile of logs where she detransformed.

"MISTY! AAAAHHHH!" The same attack sent Ash detransformed into the same
pile of rubble.

"Electro Shocker!" Kabuterrimon tried to hit the pink blur but was also
hit hard, sending him crashing into a pile of sawdust where he
detransformed.

"How about...AAAHHH!" Togemon fell back, reverting back to Duplica.

Without much of the cover fire the transformed Digidestined gave, and
the slow whittling down of their Digivolved Pokemon, Brock and Ranma
found themselves vastly overwhelmed, having to recall their Pokemon as
well who were also almost overwhelmed. "Man, this isn't good."

<><><>

Unknowingly, Genki mirrored his same declaration as he muttered, "Man,
this isn't good. We'd better split, no time to be subtle."

"Aye, we'd better split." The group ran out of the room and down the
hall. As they passed a group of fleeing prisoners, a bolt of
electricity made Genki and his team screech to a halt. There, standing
with glowing red eyes, was Tiger.

"Tiger?" Genki breathed, shocked to see his old friend. "What happened
to you?"

"Genki," he rumbled, his horns crackling with electricity.

Zappa laid a hand on Genki's shoulder. "He's the second in command of
this Slave Camp."

Tiger barred his teeth, snarling. Genki shook his head. "No. Tiger
would never do that."

"Believe it Genki. You left me to die. Remember? You left me at the
mercy of Galley!"

"NO! We were all trapped! Mocchi saved us all Tiger, or have you
forgotten that!"

"LIAR!" Tiger's horns burst to life, crackling with electricity. "You
left me there, deep in the hole, forever to die. All because you wanted
to save Mocchi! You! Holly! Suezo! Hare! Golem! BUT ESPECIALLY YOU!!!
YOU LEFT ME TO DIE!!!!!"

"NO! I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT I DID THAT! Tiger, I'm from another
world, one parallel to this one! If your Genki was this heartless, then
why did you travel with him? What about the memories you have of him?
WHAT ABOUT THEM?!"

Tiger's horns slowly started to loose their charge as he started to
shudder. The Dark Ring around his leg started to crack and then, with a
definite shattering sound, it broke and Tiger slumped to the ground.
Genki's chest shone with the Crest of Reliability. Kneeling down beside
the one he called friend, he let the warm glow penetrate Tigers whole
being. After a moment, all was silent. Then, Tiger opened his eyes, his
eyes a warm blue. "Genki.... you're... alive. I'm alive."

"What really happened Tiger? What happened?"

Tiger pushed himself up on his haunches. "It was the Dark Ring. I
remember getting out of the hole with everyone. We fought Galley. Then,
I told everyone to leave when I took him out. I remember fighting him
to a standstill and finally, I beat him with his own trap. I don't
remember surviving when I left his crumbling palace though."

"It's okay Tiger," Genki said, hugging the Monster, "It's okay."

<><><>

(Music Cue : Blessed Union Of Souls : Brother My Brother)

Ash slowly pulled himself from the pile of logs as he massaged his sore
neck. "Wow, that thing packs a punch. Hey Misty, you okay?"

Misty groaned and opened her eyes. "I hurt all over."

Above the ground, Pixie laughed, her eyes narrowing to slits. "Ah, and
I thought you Digidestined were better than that."

"Don't count us out just yet," Ranma grit his teeth as he stood up and
unsteadily centered himself. His hands started to glow but a shout came
from the doorway.

"STOP!"

Tiger stepped forwards as he barred his teeth. "I will be the one who
will fight you Pixie."

"Hmph. Tiger. You got free of the Dark Ring. Very well." She landed,
lightly touching down on the ground.

A tense moment passed between them as a breeze stirred the dust. Then,
they lunged at each other. Time and time again, they clashed, bolts of
flame and electricity. Tiger took a rather nasty hit to the chest.
Rolling out of it, he fired his Torpedo Attack, driving Pixie to the
ground. Then, he was all over her as his fangs grasped the Dark Ring
and started to chew on it. Pixie lashed out with a fist and caught him,
one of his front teeth breaking off and landing in front of Genki.

"C'mon Tiger," Genki said, holding the tooth. "You can do it."

"TORPEDO ATTACK!"

"RAY!"

The two attacks clashed together. In the resolving dust cloud, Tiger
leapt, and slashed Pixie across the arm, the Dark Ring shattering with
a spray of fragments. Pixie shuddered as she fell boundlessly to the
ground. Then, after an indeterminable time, she slowly got up and
opened her eyes. They were maroon again. "What in the world happened to
me?"

It was then when Tiger gave out a whimper and sunk to the ground. Genki
was at his side as he checked the wound. "It's.... so deep. Yet,
there's no blood."

"Genki.... help me up. There is a shrine just outside of this place. I
need to go there before it is too late."

Genki nodded. Zappa came up and picked up the Monster in his arms.
"Lets go."

<><><>

(Music Cue : Midnight Sons : If Only Tears Could Bring You Back)

"What is this place?" Duplica asked, massaging her sore arms. "It's so
large."

"This a Holy place where the fallen heroes of the wars sleep for all
eternity," Pixie said from her place on Ranma's back. "Here is where
Tiger intends to die. And I will join him shortly."

"DIE?! But you can't die! I won't let it happen!" Genki was livid but
Pixie shook her head.

"No Genki, we were supposed to join our comrades a long time ago. Trust
me, this is for the best." Arriving at a large doorway, Jean-luc pushed
it open to reveal a large mausoleum. There, standing along the way were
life-sized stone statues depicting fallen heroes. Ranma recognized
Sailor Moon, Mercury and Venus.

'Oh man, even the legendary Sailor Senshi fell in battle?' Ranma
thought. He remembered the original Digidestined relating their first
encounters with Myotismon. They related how the Sailor Senshi, a group
of magical girls, aided the Digidestined. This was after he noticed
that after the battle of Juuban, it looked that the original
Digidestined were already very much acquainted with the Sailor Senshi,
on a personal level. When Ranma asked if the original Digidestined knew
real identities of the Sailor Senshi as well, they said yes, but also
said it was a secret. Ranma didn't press on further.

There were people who were dressed in ornate battle uniforms. Genki
swallowed a hard lump in his throat as he saw a statue of himself and
Holly side by side and yes, even Mocchi, Hare, Suezo and Golem.

Approaching a large platform, there were several pillars that marked
the places where the fallen humans had been buried. Tiger leapt from
Zappa's arms and limped towards the place next to a lost disc. "Genki,
thank you for freeing me and Pixie. It means a lot." Pixie took a
position next to a lone standing Disc. Giving warm smiles, their bodies
started to glow.

"TIGER! PIXIE! NOOOO!" Genki had to be forcibly restrained as they
glowed a brilliant light. Then, they shrunk down into Discs. On either
side of the rows of statues, two places started to glow as the
remaining energies of their deaths created stone statues to forever
watch over the place. Then, the entire place glowed.

And then, two voices echoed in the temple. "Genki. Thank you. For
everything." Then, the light was gone.

Genki collapsed, tears in his eyes. Misty dabbed at her eyes and
Duplica was bawling. "What a sad ending," Ash said, wiping at his own
tears.

Ranma nodded, seemingly hard but was sobbing freely inside. "They were
friends. Even though we did not know them very well, I know Genki is
hurting."

Jean-luc crossed himself as he doffed his hat. "Please watch over these
souls oh Mighty God," he prayed.

"C'mon," Brock said, "Genki needs some time alone."

"Report."

"Tiger and Pixie are dead. The humans are gone."

"And were there any traces of the Digidestined?"

"None."

"Continue our search for Gorn Nova. I must have its power, no matter
the cost."

"As you command my Lord Muu."

Zappa poked the fire they had made when the group had set up camp. The
flames burned brightly, illuminating Genki who somehow had sat down
before him without his knowing. For a long time, the group sat in
silence before Zappa said, "Laddie, one battle nae make a war. They
were good friends to th' end, aye?"

"The best." Genki wiped at his reflowing tears as he adjusted his seat
and took a plate offered by Jean-luc. "Thanks."

Jean-luc smiled. "I may not be the best when fighting, but I can cook."

Genki smiled as he ate. After a bit, Ash put down his plate. "Any
thoughts on how we should proceed?"

"We have to stop Muu in any way we can," Ranma said. "That won't be
easy. It'll probably take another Jogress Evolution to do it."

"OmniPheonixmon," Ash said in agreement. "Anything else?"

"Well, we'll need supplies. For that we'll have to cross over to Home
World." said Brock.

"And we need some sort of transportation," Genki said. "But I do have
something that we could use." He picked up his backpack and fished
around in it before displaying the golden crest he held.

"The Phoenix Gate," Misty said.

"Phoenix Gate?" Mike asked. "What's that?"

"The Phoenix Gate can be used to travel back in time. We used it once
back in Home World. I think we could use it again."

"Ye need weapons," Zappa said, speaking up. "And I'm th' best
Blacksmith ye'll ever need. For that, we'll head to th' El Nido
Archipelago and get meself's shop open."

"Some weapon training wouldn't hurt," Brock said.

"Then it's settled, tomorrow, we leave for El Nido."

The morning came, no clouds in the sky. It was bright and clear as the
group packed up their supplies. Ash shrugged on his backpack and pulled
out the Phoenix Gate. "Here," he said, giving it to Zappa. "Just
picture your shop and we'll get there. Is everyone ready? Then just
repeat after me Zappa. Deslagrate..."

"Deslagrate..."

"Moritempae..."

"Moritempae..."

"Et Intervalia!"

"Et Intervalia!"

In a bright flash of red energy, the whole group disappeared.

Zippa sighed as she hung the sign out on the front door. "This is th'
first time in millennia this store has nay been closed. Without Zappa,
th' store is useless."

Suddenly, a bright flare of light flashed behind her as she turned
around in surprise. Then, it resolved into a group of people and Zappa
who she hugged. "AYE! I thought ye were in prison Zappa!"

"Nay stone nor titanium can keep me away from me forge," Zappa said
with a grin. "Stoke the fire lassie, we be forging free items for these
fine folks."

Zippa laughed and went to get the matches.

<><><>

"Sorry to keep ye waiting laddies and lasses, but meself and Zippa, we
forged weapons for ye personally. Genki me lad, ye be getting Tiger
Fang Gloves. Ranma, ye have Dendorite Fists. The young lasses, Misty
and Duplica have a Stone Rapier and Stone Katana respectively. Brock
m'boy ye have a new Stone Hammer. And Ash, ye have one of meeself's
favorites, the Stone Swallow."

Ash lifted the Swallow and whistled. "It's so light."

"Aye, that it is. You handle it like a staff no less. One handed or
two, no matters."

"I've got to hand it to you dear," Zippa said. "Ye be making great
weapons for these young 'uns once again. Just like our ancestor did so
so many years ago."

Genki crossed over to Zappa and stuck out his hand. "Thanks, for
helping."

Zappa nodded. "Ye be keeping out of trubble ye hear? Or old Zappa'll
have to join ye party immediately. And speaking o trubble, where be
Jean-luc with t' Elements?"

"Elements?" Misty asked.

"Aye, Elements. Ye need them to use magic in these parts. He is getting
ye Cures, Heals and offensive Elements for ye to use."

"That's great!" Ash exclaimed. "If we could use magic, it would really
help!"

Ranma suddenly got a vision and a jumble of images before he blinked
again. The most prominent thing he knew was something called Dragon
Slayer? Shaking his head, he said, "If we use these magics, then we'll
attract more attention."

"There nay be no problem for that," Zippa said. "Elements be common in
these parts."

After Jean-luc had arrived and given them all elements, Ash stood and
said, "Well, I know where we're going next. 8000 BC. We're gonna stop
Muu at the source!"

Ranma gulped. If the year 8000 BC in Another World was like the 8000 BC
in Home World... he didn't like where this was going.

"Good idea! Ye be taking this now ye hear?" Zappa gave Ash a pendant.
"It be an Amulet. I don't know what's its for but ye give it a fair try
ye hear?"

"Right. Lets go!"

A few short words and a chant, and the group disappeared.

The Time Gates were forever sealed. But suddenly, a blast of chaotic
Time ran through the cracks of the heaving doorway. Without their
knowledge, the Time Travelers were shot off course.

<><><>

"You feel that?"

"What?"

"He is truly beginning to awaken."

"Who?"

"The Child of Chaos."
